One Psychic Says: "Enough With The 'Quantum' Nonsense"

Look, there's only one reason a psychic reader or a spiritualist uses the word "quantum": they're trying to manipulate you into believing what they say. It sounds super-scientific, doesn't it? Must be true!

That kind of manipulation is insulting to the person they're speaking to. It's as if they don't believe you should think about what they're saying and decide for yourself if it makes sense. They'd rather you just shut up and swallow whatever you're being spoon fed.

It's a symbol of their lack of faith in you. Of course, on the other side sometimes it's more about a lack of faith in themselves.

They might have a point worth exploring, but they've immediately buried it under this cloying need for approval. They're so worried about people believing what they say, so self-conscious about these ideas, that they need to pepper their language with buzzwords like "quantum" or "energy field" or "wave particle duality".

So, as a psychic and a spiritualist, I say enough; we don't need these crutches. Humans are marvelous, beautiful, and want enlightenment. Let's treat them that way.

Here, try this on for size: love everyone. It makes the world a better place.

Did that lack impact because I forgot to mention the scientific rationale for it? No. And do you know why? Because you're not a psychopath, that's why. You get it.

How about this one: we're all connected.

Oh, did I forget to add "on a quantum level"? That's because if I did that would be stupid, frankly. We share the same air, we live on the same planet, we survive by the same sun. Of course we're all connected, in thousands and millions of ways and levels and the more you look the more you'll see.

Take a moment now and consider this. Isn't it the most easy thing in the world to see? So why would I try to box you into my little "quantum level" frame?

One last one: you can change the world.

No, dammit, not because of quantum physics. You can change the world because you have power.

Now granted, it might have been sleeping, but you can wake that power up. It wants to wake up. We call it by a lot of names: love, compassion, kindness, or just plain humility - that deep burning desire in you to see joy grow inside others.

You can change the world by using that power. You can smile at someone today. Just that. That's a start. That counts. That can change five full minutes of a stranger's life.

From there you can thank someone today for just being who they are and doing what they do. You can treat someone with kindness when they're feeling down. You can laugh with someone.

And person by person, moment by moment, little by little, you can create thousands of sparks of joy that ignite a wildfire of kindness that sweeps this planet and changes everything on every level.

You can do this. This is the truth, and a truth you know without my having to rationalize it in pseudo-scientific "quantum" language. Nobody can take that away from you, and nobody needs to convince you, and we don't need anybody's permission. It's something you already have a handle on, something you already know and didn't need me to teach you. All I'm doing here is saying: "Look at that. Isn't that awesome?"

No more manipulation. Only truth.

The "Man Cold"

A month ago I was sick and it destroyed me for 3 days. Extremely weak, couldn't hold a thought steady in my head, feverish. Some interesting hallucinations. And yes, I admit: plenty of whining.

Since then I've had a bit of a cough that just won't leave, and when I asked myself why I was holding on to it I realized that I wanted to remember that weakness; to remember that despite how strong my body feels right now, how focused and sharp my mind is, that it can all be stripped away.

In essence: I must not identify with strength.

As a man, this is difficult. There is nothing more terrifying for a man than to appear weak. It is a primal imperative inside of us that we are not perceived that way by others. It is both genetic and reinforced by everyone around us since a very, very young age. You must be strong, or you are not a man.

And you must, must, must be a man. Whatever that means.

So as I look back at having been sick, I realize that men suffer from illness on a mental level in a way they often don't even realize is affecting them. When the body fails, when we don't even have the strength to climb a flight of stairs, we feel helpless. It's horrific to us on a deep, deep level that we often don't even have words for. It's terrifying.

Of course this is the blog for The Psychic Village, and we're all about enlightenment, so... what's the fix?

Transcendence, of course. We need to move beyond the whole struggle. We need to realize that strength and weakness are not who we are, they do not define us, they say nothing about our value. The effort here is not to push away strength of course, but to get to a point where you think of it like hair color or the shape of your earlobe: one of those things that doesn't matter, and in no way defines who you are as a person.

Easier said than done though. I have a feeling I'm gonna need to hang onto this cough for awhile.

What Is This Here To Teach Me?

When hard times come, we're often told to focus on gratitude and positive thoughts. Unfortunately, we're not often told how to do that. As a result people tend to avoid thinking about things that bother them entirely, or try to chase those problems away and beat them down with a variety of spiritual practices. They suppress the negative in favour of the positive. Essentially: they enter denial.

Oddly, this doesn't make their problems go away. Why not? If you're filling your vision with wonderful things, shouldn't more wonderful things come?

That is usually the case, but if something is bothering you, then it's too late: that thing exists. It will continue to exist and continue to affect you whether you pay it any mind or not. In fact, if something is truly aggravating, denial only puts it in charge of all of the subconscious resources that govern your life. Denial empowers your problems.

The key is to not deny your hard times, but transcend them.

Transcendence comes from acceptance. One must accept, whole-heartedly, the difficulty one is enduring. That's the first step.

The easiest and most effective way I've found to do this is to ask: "what is this here to teach me?" I don't always expect an answer, although sometimes I get lucky and the answer is self-evident.

The key, though, is in the asking. By doing this you send love to the issue by acknowledging it for the gift it is. You are being taught something you couldn't learn any other way, and you're going to stay in this class until you've learned your lesson.

Knowing what that lesson is, specifically, doesn't really matter. Trust that some day in retrospect you'll understand the positive changes that occurred inside of you as a result. For now though, just accept that this is something necessary to help you grow. Be grateful for the pain as one might be grateful for a surgical procedure or a splint being set for a broken bone. You don't have to enjoy it, mind you, but do ensure that you acknowledge that you are being healed and strengthened by it.

You'll find you stop pushing your problem away now. Rather, you simply wait for it to pass, knowing that it won't leave until the lesson has been integrated into your being.

At this point something interesting starts happening: by reflex, you allow healing that you were interfering with before. This hard time has wanted to pass for a long time, but it needed to do its work first. Now that you're allowing it to improve you, the healing process is naturally accelerated and things can start moving again.

We can call this moment "transcendence". From this place you'll find it easy to put the suffering in context, without feeling like a victim or a helpless sufferer. These things are happening. They are making you better in a way you really aren't supposed to understand yet. That's okay.

Now, while I'm waiting, what else is there to do today?

And here we are; we've arrived. It is safe to search for positive and loving things to occupy yourself with while the hard time works itself out. The attention you would give your difficulty now can rest on the level of waiting at a bus stop. Keep your eyes open for the bus (the final solution, the problem passing, the moment of healing), but meanwhile trust that it is definitely coming eventually. The problem will pass, it is inevitable.

While you wait, occupy yourself with something good. This is your moment of transcendence; you fully acknowledge and accept the things that you don't like, understand that it is temporary, a part of your learning process, and a tiny part of existence, and then spend your time exploring things that you do like. Soon, the things you do like will be the only things your life is filled with any more, and you can look back with gratitude for the lessons you were gifted with over time.

Manifestation Fundamentals: The Unique Advantage of Weakness

The following article is part of a series on Manifestation. For the first part, please see Manifestation Fundamentals: Accept That Life is Unfair. In this article we continue to discuss "The First Fundamental of Manifestation":
To work with The Law of Attraction properly, you must transform yourself into a person who has this ability. Change is not optional.
Here we'll tackle the concept from a different perspective.

One thing many of us spend a lot of time on is the careful control of our energies. Positivity, compassion, patience, happiness, and all of the things we call "high frequencies" start as quarries we pursue, then hard-won prizes, and then simply become habits.

In theory this not only makes us happier and healthier, this also opens us to the higher wisdom of the universe. Of course, of particular importance to this series of articles is also the application of the Law of Attraction: if you stay positive, then positive things will come to you.

The difficulty is that the world, and our experience of it, spans the frequency spectrum from one end to the other. As positive as you think you are, you are not completely free of negativity. That's an experience reserved for the next world.

So here's what happens: we have our high-frequency addict. They resonate with joy, bliss out in meditation, and overall present a shiny happy face to the world at all times. And then they get sick, have arguments with friends, business moves don't go as planned, and they're left wondering: how is this possible? I've been entirely focused on positivity, so this shouldn't be happening. I did not ask for this. What's going on?

3 Easy Steps To Finding Your Higher Self

Reaching the higher self sounds like a good idea to most people, but where do you start? How do you connect with the pure, loving part of yourself without years of meditation and religious study?

It's easier than you might think.

Step 1: Find 5 Minutes

Set aside 5 minutes a day where you will be thinking about your higher self. The idea of sitting back and focusing on something like this will seem peculiar at first, so we'll start off easy.

Don't push yourself, after all this is supposed to be relaxing! If you feel like continuing a session after the first 5 minutes, of course feel free to do so.

Please note: if you don't have 5 minutes free in your day, then find 15 minutes. If your life is really that hectic then it's time to make this a priority and bump something from your schedule!

7 Side-Effects Of Spiritual Healing

Here is a list of 7 signs that you are on the healing path. Some will seem a bit peculiar or random, but those of you who have experienced dramatic healings in the past will definitely find them familiar:

  1. Emotional discharge. When you've been clearing blocks away, stored up emotions break free and get released. Suddenly you're crying or laughing or shouting each in turn or all at once, and then it passes and you feel peaceful. This is pretty common, and one of those things that people who are losing a lot of weight frequently experience as things that were once stored up get flushed out.
  2. Something in the outer world changes. A person you used to hear from

Feeling Broken When I'm Perfect

One of the more confusing things spiritual healers often say is that you are not damaged.

Picture this now: you've been hurting, or you've run into a big barrier in your spiritual development. You've gone through the process of looking up a healer, making the appointment, and agreeing to pay for the service. As you're discussing what is to come, you happen to talk about how you feel flawed or damaged or imperfect in some way.

Then they tell you that you're perfect exactly the way you are.

So then you have to ask: if you're already perfect, why are you even there?

When I studied Reiki years ago this really stumped me. On one hand we were doing energy healings, but on the other hand we were carefully coached to never see anyone as anything other than perfect. How can both be true?

All of the reasons people seek out a healer boil down to two things:

The Physical / Emotional Link, And Why Disease Is Meant To Heal

Nobody has ever calmly, serenely drifted away into a relaxing heart attack. Your body and your emotions are intimately linked.

I've been fortunate enough to have suffered a few rather painful events over the last year. These were lessons that I was blessed with when I just couldn't learn any other way. Sure, it would have been nicer if I had just come to grips with my personal issues in a more healthy and wholistic manner, but I was in a hurry to get my inner demons dealt with and so Divine Providence obliged.

First there was the gall bladder attack, which was about as much pain as I am able to imagine a man can experience. I'll spare you the gory details but basically it was hours of wincing out to doctors that yes, my pain was still at a 10 of 10, please do something.
